If your car has to be towed from the scene of the accident and you do not have a body shop that you normally deal with have the tow truck driver tow the car to your home or mechanics shop and pay the tow truck driver yourself, your insurance company will reimburse you for the tow charges. This will give you some time calm down and find a reputable body shop to take your car to.
Don't be fooled by insurance companies saying that they do not guarantee the work of shops that are not on their list of preferred shops. The insurance companies do NOT guarantee any shops work, the body shop does.
